England winter

Snow in February...but can't complain about the warm winter here. Two days we woke up to white stuff- just enough to make a snowman and get really wet before it all went away.

Now we're in spring mode. Patio table is out, but not really too fun to sit out there yet. BBQs might have to wait until May!

Christmas 2006

Merry Christmas everyone! Danny has just turned 2 and is so much fun! Spent Christmas at the Zistelalm in Salzburg, Austria with three other families we know from Madrid, (although only one family still lives there now!) I think the owners of the Zistelalm are getting used to this big bunch of Americans spending Christmas at their place every year. It was a great 5 days and we even had a bit of sunshine with the snow. Couldn't have been better weather. Danny got to have a proper birthday party with 7 other guests from 1-8 years old and even with his bad cold had a great time.

Texas trip

Hi y'all, just wanted to share some photos of Texas (and write "y'all" just for the entertainment of our Texas family:)

March was a busy month...we had two sets of guests from the US; Joy and Katie Dekeizer, a former student of Jen's and her mom, and the Carlson family, old friends from Madrid. We also spent a week visiting family and attending Rob's cousin Catie's wedding in Dallas. Spring is finally coming around to England, but still feels a bit wintery compared to our week of Texas spring. At least Danny is able to get outside and play. He's just moments away from walking by himself. We can't wait until he finally does it!

Here's Danny on a trip to the Dallas Arboretum with Mimmie and Grandad, his Great-Grandparents

We had great weather so Danny got to explore every inch of his Nana's backyard.

Danny had fun playing with Connor and Cathlyn, his aunt and uncle

Our new house in England...
Ours is the first white one closest to the gate...

It's a townhouse with three floors which means lots of space. But a tiny staircase which didn't let our bed get upstairs to the third floor! (problem solved with a little help from a local carpenter, although we'd love to have our favorite family carpenter over here to fix it up even better for us!)

We love our location because it's only about 5 minutes to walk to shops, the train station, the outdoor market, the park...

Here's Danny playing downstairs and up! It's almost nice enough out to open that door to the backyard and patio! Planning to get a BBQ out there for all our summer visitors:)

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone (escribo abajo en español también, qué listo con sólo un añito)
Here I am in England, getting ready for Christmas and our new home here. We're moving here with all of our stuff ( how permanant is that who can say!) and we've even found a house which we'll move into in January. It's not bad here, I think I'll like it. We'll live in Woking which is only about 30 minutes from London on the train, and a quick jaunt to Guildford where my Daddy works. It seems like a friendly town, I've even made a friend and mommy thinks her mom is pretty nice too. We'll have lots of room for visitors, so hope to see you soon!
Just want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I miss you all!
love, Danny

Felices Fiestas

Hola amigos,
danny

England

Hi from England...
We are finally here for good. The movers came and packed up the Madrid apartment and Rob has started his new job in England. Looks like we'll have a bit of a wait to get settled- house hunting hasn't been too fruitful! Hopefully after the holidays there will be something more to look at in the locations we like. Danny certainly knows we aren't at home. The poor kid has slept in more port-a-cribs than we can count! For the time being we are at a temporary apartment which at least gives us some space and lots of cupboards for Danny to peer into, so he's having a good time there. So save those Christmas cards for when we have a real new address!
We are going to spend Christmas in Salzburg with friends so we are really looking forward to that. Should get us all into the holiday mood and we'll celebrate Danny's first birthday! Hard to believe he's almost a year...
We'll keep you posted!
